David Peel has gained an enormous amount of experience working for over 20 years in the hearing aid industry at a senior level.

He is now fully qualified as a Hearing Aid Audiologist, has a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, the regulatory body for the hearing aid industry.

Now David has started his own company, The Sense of Hearing to bring his skills, experience and expert knowledge to help people suffering from hearing loss in Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including the Cotswolds.

After spending 19 years working in higher education, Annette was made redundant. While looking for a new role in this sector, she took a part-time job with a hearing aid manufacturer. What was meant to be a stopgap quickly turned into a full-time job and her new chosen career, where she stayed for 14 years.

During this time, Annette undertook many roles, with her last one being an Account Manager. David from The Sense of Hearing was one of her customers. They always got along well, and as soon as he mentioned opening a clinic in Banbury, Annette knew she wanted to be involved. She joined The Sense of Hearing as Business Operations Manager in spring 2024. In this role, she supports David with the development and growth of the business and provides vital help and support to their customers.

Jo began her career as long-haul cabin crew for British Airways, spending 23 years traveling the world. After starting a family, she decided to settle down and took a role as a Health Care Assistant at a local GP Practice. Here, she trained as a Phlebotomist at the John Radcliffe in Oxford and practiced wax removal, administered injections, and changed dressings for over 11 years.

After a year with Age UK as a Social Prescriber, she transitioned to a training role, conducting inductions for new care setting entrants. In 2024, Jo joined The Sense of Hearing in Banbury as a Wax Removal Specialist, finding the role rewarding as it improves people’s hearing and general wellbeing. She completed the Hearing Care Assistant (HCA) Course last year and is now fully qualified.
